GeekSpy is an online nostalgia fix for those who forged connections and friendships via the GameSpy and ForumPlanet network in the early 2000's.
The site was originally set up in 2012 to bring some forumers from the GameSpy, 3D Action Planet, and Planet Black & White forums together again - a decade after first meeting online. Sporting a vintage look and feel, the GeekSpy Forums ran for about as long as ForumPlanet did.
With the forums now archived, GeekSpy's community connects primarily on Discord. Check the menu above to get in touch or revisit some memories!

GeekSpy is now the remaining online repository of ForumPlanet's old user icon collection, drawn by Gabe of Penny Arcade. Created in the year 2000, they are limited by the technology of the time.
The old icons have since been enhanced with upsized versions that look nicer on modern screens.
This was done using Waifu2x upscaling with some manual clean-up, as Gabe no longer has the original art - we checked! You can view, compare, and download the complete collection.

The GeekSpy Forums launched in 2012 with three retro looks - recreating the GameSpy, 3D Action Planet, and Planet Black & White ForumPlanet skins.
Built on phpBB, the forums were archived in 2023.

GeekSpy.net has been inspired by GameSpy's early 2000's design language, harkening back to a time when social media wasn't mainstream, 200ms pings were okay, and llamas roamed freely across the web.
The site contains a few turn-of-the-millenium web anachronisms, along with some modern twists for mobile devices, high-res displays, and dark mode.
